Our local schools helping to rejuvenate our waterways

Mater Dei Orchard Rd waterway rejuvenation project

During October, students from Mater Dei School at West Ashgrove, celebrated Arbor Day by spending time planting native grasses and wattles in the gully along Orchard Road at the rear of the school.

The event was part of the first stage of the new Orchard Road Rejuvenation project, which is being undertaken by Mater Dei in partnership with Brisbane City Council and SOWN.

Morelia spilotes (Pythonidae) Carpet Snake, Bush Python - This 2.8m carpet python was on the hunt for dinner!
Litoria caerulea (HYLIDAE) Green Tree Frog - Relaxing after a good meal.
Echidna - This spikey fellow was found wandering about in a backyard on dusk.
