SOWN Creek News Autumn Edition

Welcome to the Autumn edition of SOWN Creek News. This edition is chock-full of information to keep you up to date with what's happening in the Enoggera Creek catchment in the coming quarter.

This edition includes articles on weeds to watch out for in the catchment, native plants that look like weeds, a new quarterly update from the catchment coordinator, new initiatives such as SOWN TV and regular features such as our nursery update. We hope you enjoy reading it at your leisure over the easter break.

2006 has seen SOWN plan ahead in an effort to provide our members with a range of great events over the coming year.

We have organised fewer planting events due to water restrictions, however, we have a jam-packed calendar which includes regular working bees, training days, monitoring events, a creek festival and a photographic competition.

Our major Annual planting (with help from Habitat Brisbane) will be held on National Tree Day (31st July, 2006) at Banks Street Reserve, Newmarket. This will be a huge event hosted jointly by SOWN and BRAIN (Brisbane Rainforest Action & Information Network).

Lastly, if you have been trying to log onto the BRAIN site, a BRAIN registration error has been fixed, and new members can join now.

Have a safe and happy Autumn and we hope to see you around the creeks.
