Yoorala Street Community Garden

The former horse paddock in Yoorala Street has been transformed into the Yoorala Street Community Garden (YSCG). SOWN previously operated an Environment Centre adjacent to the garden.

If you wish to become involved with the garden, please visit during one of our regular working bee times. Working bees are held each Sunday. 9am-10.30am.

Aims of the Garden


  • To provide opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, skills, experience, cultural background and income level, to grow organic fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.
  • To be an open, welcoming, inclusive, sustainable, educational, creative, community resource.
  • To foster trusting, sharing, respectful and co-operative relationships between members, and with the wider community.
