Great South East Features Ithaca Intact

SOWN makes our South East Great!

On Sunday October the 5th, the Ithaca Intact project was highlighted through the Great South East's 'green special'. Featured was work undertaken by local SOWN residents, established SOWN groups and a demonstration of the work recently undertaken with Ithaca Creek State School. It was lovely to meet John Hawkin who hosted the segment and seemed very enthusiastic about the work being undertaken in our local waterways.

Ithaca Intact is a three year project to restore the full length of Ithaca Creek to its former glory. School kids and local residents are all doing their part by removing weeds, rubbish and replanting native flora.

Ithaca Intact is just one project that's overseen by SOWN, which stands for Save Our Waterways Now. SOWN also has projects running in the Enoggera and Fish Creek catchments in Brisbane's north and west.

For residents outside those areas, the Brisbane Catchments Network or Habitat Brisbane is a good resource for showing residents what's going on in their neck of the woods.
